Wax Words - Things She Likes To Do

The table was set for 14 ladies and lords

I wish I’d been there.

Wine spilled redly as secrets ceased to be,

I’d not been invited, Imagining a tea.

The stories they told there are stories you’ve all heard before.

Fat counts and courtgirls all seek the way,

To make love in haste before the light of day.

Queen Anne’s lace tied to her neck,

Like albatross weight, it keeps her from doing

Things she likes to do, wouldn’t you?

Wouldn’t you like to count among the worshippers

Red wine spills like blood to ease the pain.

Red blood fills the castle moat, to set apart the kings who gloat,

But the fool he laughs, he thinks its gonna rain.

And in the rain, everyone’s the same.

Maidens sleep and drunkards weep,

They choke on the sunlight, but isn’t it alright?

A play is enacted to tell them they are living,

They wish they had been there.

The stories they told there are stories you’ve all heard before.

Queen Anne’s lace tied to her neck, like albatross weight

It keeps her from doing

Things she likes to do
